Where can we find the logical data model of OCDM

    677461
      Hi,

      we are Platinum Partner.

We want now to evaluate and learn OCDM to be able to present it to our potential customers and maybe make some POCs.

To download Patch 9450986 we need some password. (We opened SR).

The documentation does not have full diagrams. (Operations Guide and Reference)

We ware not able to install sample reports to OBIEE 11g, we think it's not compatible to 11g and we will now try with 10g. We managed to convert ocmd.rpd to 11g, but have no success with installation of webcatalog.

In order to present the Fit-Gap Analysis we need the logical data model. Where can we find the „*.dmd“ or „*.dmdz“ files.

      Thanks
      Alen Ruvic

          We sucessfully downloades patch: p9450986_1123_GENERIC

and now we have access to:

          - OCDM_AllEntitiesDetails.pdf
          - OCDM_LDM_Diagrams.pdf

but still it would be good if we can get the data Oracle Data Modeler files.

            Hi Alen Ruvic,
OCDM installation with the second option 'Sample Reports' does not support OBIEE11g.
            It supports OBIEE10g.
You need to create dellivers folder and you should mention the path of this folder in dellivers while upgrading.
Then webcatalog will successfully get installed.

In OCDM Installation, logical data model or any related files does not exist.

            Regards
            Esther

                Hi Esther,

                thanks for your Answer.

Does patch p9450986_1123_GENERIC contain Repository and Webcatalog which are compliant with OBIEE 11g?

What is the password for ocdmdemo.rpd for the Repository provided in the patch?

We need this password to be able to install the Repository and Webcatalog.

In the documentation provided with OCDM:

Oracle® Communications Data Model Operations Guide
                11g Release 1 (11.2)
                Part Number E15883-02

Chapter: "2 Customizing the Oracle Communications Data Model"

In following sub chapter: "Steps: Extending the Logical Model to Support Multiple Levels for CONTENT"

It's mentioned how to perform the changes of the logical and physical model.

How one can perform this without to load the model in the Model Designer?

                      Dear Alen,

Next version of OCDM coming out will fully support OBIEE11g, as shown during the demo at Mobile World Congress.
                      Just a bit of patience.

                      Best regards
                      Axel.

                        Hello Alen Ruvic,

Can I have details where did you get the two docs ..
                        - OCDM_AllEntitiesDetails.pdf
                        - OCDM_LDM_Diagrams.pdf

If you can please send it to me or give me the link to refer.

I am also concerned about the 3NF at foundation layer of OCDM , what is the need to keep the layer 3NF and how to poplulate this layer from source DB ,as source DB will be 3NF and from that we need to get the data through ETL so in this case 3nf to 3nf (means denormalisation which required while doing ETL from OLTP to OLAP is not required here .. please clarify this point if you can ....

                        Best Regards,
                        Amol

                          Hi Amol,
Only payed customers who are having OCDM license can have access to Logical Data Model related files.

Below are my comments on your questyion.
We need to load data from source(3NF) into OCDM entry layer(3NF) (Reference, Lookup and Base Tables). And then we need to execute the Intra ETL to load the data into Derived and Aggregate Tables(denormalization form).

Analysis is done to understand customer data to proceed with data loading on OCDM from staging. So It needs cleansed data which means no duplicates, no future data, no type errors etc. And then the Source data(3NF) is mapped to Reference/Base(3NF) directly being direct map to the OCDM entities.

                          Best Regards,
                          Esther
