You need to install JDK first because jar command is part of JDK. You could reinstall openjdk, then install Java EE and then remove openjdk afterwards
I reinstalled java open jdk
# yum install java-1.6.0-openjdk
But JDK6 installation failed. sending same message.
Even more I reinstalled CentOS 5.5 again. But I could not install JDK6. The message was the same.
Before tring to install JDK 6, I had been using JDK5 linux version. There was no error in installation.
Do i miss any process? I need your advice.
Thanks in advance.
As you told, I installed JDK first. Then I installed JAVA EE 6.
After finishing installation, I remove pre-installed jdk
#yum erase jdk
It works! Thanks for your infomation :)
it is unbelievable: you need install 'openJDK' first to install oficial java! Is it the unique alternative?
I face same problem with my latest ubuntu. Installed 64 bit Java JDK and received same error. Just enabled root, and again installed the JAVA EE 6 as root and it was a smooth sailing

Installed *64 bit Java JDK* and received same error.
and again installed the JAVA EE 6
