I am running into some problems with installing Oracle 11g R2 on Windows XP pro SP3 machines. I am using a response file to install the client silently and I have done the same process since Oracle 9i and 10g. The DOS box opens like usual letting me know that the install is starting, but then errors out and goes away pretty fast. Here are some lines from the "InstallActions" log:
INFO: Opening bean stores from which the beans can be loaded

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Is this 18.104.22.168 or 22.214.171.124 ? Pl see if these MOS Docs can help
126.96.36.199 patchset installer crashes with INS-07003 and INS-07009 (Doc ID 1267137.1)
Silent Installation Fails with "SEVERE: Email Address Not Specified" (Doc ID 1087998.1)
ID 1087998.1 seems promising. When looking at the variable PATH, is the doc looking for me to check if there is a space between the semi-colon between variables? Here is the variable from the machine I am having troubles with:
C:\Program Files\Nice Systems\NICE Player Codec Pack\;C:\Program Files\BEA Systems\Tuxedo\bin;C:\Program Files\Oracle\jre\1.1.7\bin;C:\WINDOWS\system32;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\System32\Wbem;C:\WINDOWS\system32\nls;C:\WINDOWS\system32\nls\ENGLISH;C:\Program Files\Shared;
I have checked both of these DOCs and there are no spaces in my variables, but I am still having this issue.
Do you have any other recommendations?
Are there any other logs to check?
If I run the command line with a -debug switch is there anything in particular to look for?
Does this apply to WinXP? The doc only made reference to Unix.
Also, I do not understand how to set this variable. Could you help explain where this variable goes along with the name of the variable and the value that it needs?
I am having some errors during installation oracle 11gr2 X64 on windows 7 X64 professional on my new laptop. I checked the download files and they are correct sizes; I ignored the installation errors but after installation SQLPLUS cannot run because the startup database was not even created, can somebody provide step-step installation process on this platform....regards
Pl do not hijack other threads - it is considered to be rude behavior - Re: Regarding installation of oracle 11g
To the OP - If you have not set the PS1 variable explicitly, then you should be OK. You can identify the variables set in your environment by issuing the "SET" command in an MSDOS(Command) window
We are experiencing the exact same EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION error that the OP saw when doing a silent install of Oracle 11GR2. Except we are running on Windows 7 SP 1.
Does anyone know the cause, and is there any solution?
Any help would be appreciated.
It is considered rude to hijack someone else's thread. What version of Win 7 are you running ? Home versions are not supported. Pl post the last 100 lines from the install log file.
