    Department and team of am another user

      Hi Friends Please help me to fix this,

      In Service Request we have a custom field Taskuser which in we will save the userID if the user who is going to do the service Request.

      if we create a report with Service Request Name , Owner, Taskuser, Department (Owner, Department are from user data base)

      it is showing owner Department , but we want Taskuser department in that place

      EX: Let us consider 3 user
      S.no| user | Department
      1 | aa | Marketing
      2| bb | Support
      3 | cc | sales

      and aa(1) creates 2 Service request with Taskuser as bb(2) and cc(3)

      then the Report is like this
      Service Request Name | Owner| Taskuser| Department
      123 | aa | bb | Marketing
      321 | aa | cc | Marketing


      but we need as

      Service Request Name | Owner| Taskuser| Department
      123 | aa | bb | Support
      321 | aa | cc | sales

      Please help me to fix it.


      (it should be dynamic we should not do hard code)

            What is the field type of the Taskuser field and how are you inputting the value in it?

              Hello Uthaya,

              The report is working as expected. Since you are using the department from the user database, the department of the owner would be displayed and not the department of the task user. Hence, you need to tweak the solution

              The solution is as follows:

              Create another text field TaskUser Department.
              When the owner enters the taskuser field, then you need to populate the Task User Department field with department of the task user.

              Depending on what is populated in the Task user field you can use a workflow to enter the task user department or the owner needs to manually enter the value.


              In the report instead of using the department field, you can use the task user department field and you would achieve your result.
