You want to limit the no of records in a pivot table. Hence, I would like to know how you would identify the 10 records. If we have the logic to identify the 10 reacords, then we will be able to limit the number of records to 10.
If you want to display ONLY 10 records overall in the report, then you need some logic for identifying the 10 records as Paul said.
However for a normal table view if you want to display only 10 records per page instead of the default 25, you can change it. On Step two, Go to the table's Edit View and click on Edit Table View Properties and modify the Rows per Page setting.
This is a very very simple report.
Select the report from the Asset or Asset History
Include the columns, Account Name, Asset, Quantity and once again Quantity.
In the fourth Quantity column please apply the formula (in fx part) RANK("- Quantity".Quantity By Account."Account Name")
After applying the formula, please select the filter less than 11.
You can then hide the fourth column.
The RANK function would give rank each asset based on the their quantity. We are applying the phrase By Account."Account Name" so that the ranking is done separately for each account name. We are then applying the filter less than 11, so that only 10 records are displayed in the report.
Once the number of records are limited then you can apply the pivot accordingly and get the output.
