No suggestions hints, etc.. not a good sign.
Can this not be done?
Probably no answers because it's trivial. You just write an HTML form with an action URL, and a Java servelt that processes a POST to that action. Nothing unusual about it at all.
Thanks for the info EJP.
I wasn't seeing any references to getting data into a cube this way so I didn't want to start down this path and run into a roadblock.
May I ask what the norm is and what your experiences have been in getting field data into a cube, Is HTML not the best approach?
Thanks in advance.
What's a 'cube'?
An Essbase Cube...
Just thought I would post a bit of info. on what I found in case anyone else is going down this path and looking for some examples in one place...
A Basic HTTP form for sending data to a Servlet- http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/simplehtml-137341.html
A Servlet example for receiving the info from HTTP - http://java.sun.com/developer/onlineTraining/Programming/BasicJava1/Code/ExampServlet.java
The last piece of the puzzle would be to take the "Data" passed and push it into Essbase using JAPI.
