    Some good books for beginners?

      Hello,

I am searching for a good book for beginners in java security.
I got the book "Beginning Cryptography with Java" from David Hook.

This is a good book but a little bit too "dry" sometimes.

Are there some other good books out there who maybe tell the reader
a little bit of the way to provide secure applications?

      Regards,

      Olek

Thats more the subject than the book really. Try writing a novel around system security, it better involve some kind of murder or bomb if you want to sell anything.

Focused on Java, or are you ready to broaden your scope and really understand security as a concept?

            Re,

What I want is to understand "some basics" of security in programming and some
good practical rows of code for up to date java-cryptography.

I got some basic knowledge. I don't want to write apps for thousands of people to
protect their bank account data or something else. Only for private usage,
to protect my private stuff against some bad guys out there.

Surely that is what "Beginning Cryptography with Java" from David Hook does!
