Oracle 10g XE Amazon EC2 AMIs no longer available?

    Jeff Kemp
I use the Oracle 10g XE AMIs (as per http://aws.amazon.com/amis/1720?_encoding=UTF8&jiveRedirect=1) - ami-7acb2f13 on US-East, and ami-986f11ca in Singapore - but I now find that I cannot launch new instances of these. When I search for them, it just says "not found".

According to Amazon (c.f. https://forums.aws.amazon.com/message.jspa?messageID=258924): "Unfortunately these are Oracle supplied AMI's and they manage the life-cycle of their AMI releases. I would suggest that you reach out to the Oracle support network to see what is the recommended/preferred method to launch a replacement instance now that this AMI has been retired."
