The iSeries migration part is not included with SQL Dev now. It is still under early development stage and we have no date of availability.
An option would be to implement the Generic connectivity (Database Gateway for ODBC) included with the Oracle Database.
Basically, you have to install an ODBC driver to iSeries on the machine hosting the DG4ODBC.
This driver will be used to connect the Oracle database to DB2/i. Oracle will then see all the iSeries tables as Oracle tables.
You will be then able to issue statement like:
CREATE TABLE <Oracle_Table> AS SELECT * FROM <iSeries_Library>.<iSeries_Table<@<iSeries_dblink>
The documentation for DG4ODBC is available at
Thank you Jean-Patrick!
I would like to know what about the objects... Jobs, procedures...?
You can copy data/table structures from DB2/400 using SQLDeveloper. You will have to use the JTopen driver from IBM for connecting to DB2. Currently we don't have support for migrating DB2 procedures/views etc. Jobs you can re-create them in Oracle also but there are no tools to migrate jobs to Oracle out of the box.
