How visualvm get CPU load average for host

In visualvm, I can see the CPU load of a solaris server, how does visualvm get this information? Look like it is same as prstat and difference from sar, it is get from prstat command?

The JVM makes a system call to get the load average. I don't believe it is defined how this is done and it could be different for different JVMs.
