          Pl identify exact versions of "11g" and "Windows 7"

          Only 11gR2 is certified on Win 7 Professional or higher.

          http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e16773/reqs.htm#CHDHGGFE

          Pl post the last 100 lines from the install log

            Are you using Windows 7 Home or is it Professional or Ultimate. Only Windows 7 Professional and Ultimate are certified to be installed on

              What did that add to Srini's reply?

              As said, it is not clear what op meant by "11g". The 11.2 document referenced above states that Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate editions are supported/certified.

                    Please be much more specific as to what you are installing. Download link for install media? ("11g" is marketing label)

                    Also make sure that the downloaded install media was complete (i.e. check file sizes, etc.). Use of a downloads manager is recommended.

                    Is Win 7 32 or 64-bit? (run>control system, look for "System type:")

                      1. Rename the full pathname directory NOT to contain a space.

                      2. Launch again the OUI... and verify if the problem occurs.

                        Thanks I did followed the below instruction to install Java

                        Stage 1. Locate Install Directory
                        If you already know the install path for the Java or Software Development Kit, go to Stage 2. Otherwise, find the install path by following these instructions:

                        Unless you changed the install path for the Java Developement Kit during installation, it will be in a directory under C:\Program Files\Java. Using Explorer, open the directory C:\Program Files\Java
                        Inside that path will be one or more subdirectories such as jdk1.5.0_08. If you just installed the Java Development Kit, it will be installed to the newest directory, which you can find by sorting by date. For example, it may be installed in C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_08. This is the install path.
                        Stage 2. Apply Setting
                        Once you have identified the JDK install path:

                        Right click on the My Computer icon on your desktop and select properties
                        Click the Advanced Tab
                        Click the Environment Variables button
                        Under System Variable, click New
                        Enter the variable name as JAVA_HOME
                        Enter the variable value as the install path for the Development Kit
                        Click OK
                        Click Apply Changes
                        If you are running Confluence as a EAR/WAR rather than the Standalone, you may need to restart your application server

                            OUI generates a detailed log file that should contain additional clues.

                            post excerpt, the last 100 lines, from install log file.

                              Try to perform the below silent installation.

                              $ cd /11gR2/database
                              $ ./runInstaller -silent -debug -force \
                              FROM_LOCATION=/11gR2/database/stage/products.xml \
                              oracle.install.option=INSTALL_DB_SWONLY \
                              UNIX_GROUP_NAME=oinstall \
                              INVENTORY_LOCATION=/u01/app/oracle/oraInventory \
                              ORACLE_HOME=/u01/app/oracle/product/11201/db_1 \
                              ORACLE_HOME_NAME="OraDb11g_Home1" \
                              ORACLE_BASE=/u01/app/oracle \
                              oracle.install.db.InstallEdition=EE \
                              oracle.install.db.isCustomInstall=false \
                              oracle.install.db.DBA_GROUP=dba \
                              oracle.install.db.OPER_GROUP=dba \

                                11gR1 or 11gR2 ? You were requested above to post the link from which you downloaded the software. 11gR1 is not certified/supported on Win 7 (any version), only 11gR2 is.

                                    Pl post the link you downloaded the software from. Pl confirm that you unzipped both install files into the same directory on your Win 7 machine.
