    CREATE TYPE does not seem to...

      Can XE use CREATE TYPE?

      When I enter the following statement, sqlplus returns with the line continuation prompt and appears to expect something more. Should this work?

      CREATE TYPE mytype AS OBJECT (thenum NUMBER(10), thestreet CHAR(40));

          Perhaps it's a bug in sqlplus. I get the same result when running the posted command. However, the following variation works for me...
          CREATE TYPE mytype AS OBJECT (thenum NUMBER(10), thestreet CHAR(40))
          /
          Also, sqldeveloper has no trouble with the semicolon.
