Hi,
EPM System 11.1.2.1.0 (Hyperion Planning and budget) development environment was installed by a consultant. During the installation he used a temp id that no longer exists. I need to reconfigure and redeploy Foundation Services on this environment. However when I log in with a domaing admin account and try to start EPM system configurator I get the error message of Epmsystem inventory file not found and the EPM system configurator shuts down. I need to be able to launch the system configurator with an account and have it recognize the installation inventory information.

Error message displayed is as follows:

    There are some important notes when installing 11.1.2.1

    Note: On Windows machines, do not use the Administrator user to install and configure. Run EPM System Installer and EPM System Configurator as a user with administrator rights. Install and configure as the same user for all EPM System products.

    Note: When you upgrade or apply the maintenance release, install and configure using the same user that was used to install and configure the earlier release.

    The reason the check is failing is it is searching for \program files\Oracle\Inventory and can't find it.

    Cheers

    Thanks John,
    Your suggestion was helpful.
    I checked the contents of c:\Program FiC:\Program Files\Oracle\Inventory. I foun an XML named \ContentsXML\Inventory.xml .I opened it and replaced the original user account with the account that I want to use to perform my System Configurator.

    Did it work that solution?
    Could you start EPM Configuration with this another user?

    If you open the file Instance.xml you will see the section:

    </HOME>

    <HOME NAME="EpmSystem_USER1" LOC="E:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1" TYPE="O" IDX="3" />

    </HOME_LIST>

    simply add a new row with the new user name, you can add as many user you desire:

    </HOME>

    <HOME NAME="EpmSystem_USER1" LOC="E:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1" TYPE="O" IDX="3" />

    <HOME NAME="EpmSystem_USER2" LOC="E:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1" TYPE="O" IDX="3" />

    <HOME NAME="EpmSystem_USER3" LOC="E:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1" TYPE="O" IDX="3" />

    </HOME_LIST>

    This solve the issue, the first row is always created by the set up as the user that install EPM.

    Regards,
