The new C++ standard has finished its approval process. Official publication is expected next week.
Studio 12.3 (C++ 5.12), currently in beta test, has no support for C++11. We will provide full support for C++11 in a future release.
Hi Steve, just to get a rough idea of timeframes - are we talking months, year, years?
Since we are now in the process of completing a new release (watch this space for an announcement), we don't yet have dates for future releases. Most likely, full support of C++11 is more than a year away. I can't predict when partial support might be available.
C++11 has now been formally approved by the ISO. Any idea how long before Oracle Solaris Studio implements the standard?
Please see the comment just above your question in this thread. :-)
It is now almost 2013 and many of the other compiler vendors have released C++11 support. We'd like to use these features but are currently supporting Solaris environments with Solaris Studio 12.3 builds. Should we switch to GNU or will Solaris Studio have support soon?
When will Solaris studio support the new C++11 standard?
Should we switch to GNU or will Solaris Studio have support?
desperate !!! :(
The developers want to move to the GNU..

The Oracle Solaris Studio development team is actively developing support for the new C++11 standard. Watch for an announcement of an upcoming Beta Program on the Oracle Solaris Studio OTN page
and in this forum.
If you have a service contract with Oracle, you should see whether your support channel can be more helpful.
