    Acls file Migration

    Lokesh Rathi
      Hi Team,

      Do IOP create same encryption for user id across various instance ? I am facing difficulty while migrating acls.xml file to another instance ? How do i migrate the same level of user accessibility across all Instance ?

      The last option for us is to keep backup of acls.xml for all the instances seprately,though not sure if it work ?

      Thanks

          You can remove the user id from ACLs.xml so that you dont have to worry about user id encryption.
          For example:
          <Access>
          <User providerName="Native Directory" loginName="blinberg"/>
          <Grant>
          <Permission name="Update"/>
          <Response type="Financial Impact"/>
          </Grant>
          </Access>

          While creating the users using LCM, you can provide the user id to hyperion shared services. This way you can manage same user id on all the instances.

            Hi ,

            We are creating User from EPM. Is there any option so that we can restrict User id Encryption also. And you mean deleting the encryption means like the below example or remove the--> (User Id = "" ) tht itself or Change the User Id = "blinberg". Please advice.

            <Access>
            <User Id = "" providerName="Native Directory" loginName="blinberg"/>
            <Grant>
            <Permission name="Update"/>
            <Response type="Financial Impact"/>
            </Grant>
            </Access>

            Thanks

              You can use this guide for more information on LCM for migrating users/groups.

                we are able to migrate now. There is one report Name for which the name is changed and it was erroring out while migration. When we tried to import acls septrately it pointed out the errored report name.

                Thanks

                  Thats good. I am happy that you are able to migrate users now. we need to make sure that we export the model definitions and ACLs after changing the metadata to avoid invalid name errors.
