I'm trying to come up with a way to take an entire image (say, of a monster) and convert its entire hue to a different shade. I've seen this in programs like Photoshop, where there is a Hue, Saturation, and Brightness option. You can adjust the hue and turn, say, an image that is mostly green and watch it adopt a primarily purplish hue. I'm fairly familiar with BufferedImage and ImageIO, so if anyone has any ideas regarding these classes or any other classes and how they would apply in solving this problem, I would much appreciate the knowledge. Thank you so much!
I think you are looking for a Composite, I believe the SwingX has a BlendComposite which can do what you want. Quick search give this demo: http://www.java2s.com/Code/Java/2D-Graphics-GUI/BlendCompositeDemo.htm
