        Are you sure you have a SCAN listener on 192.168.20.29 ? The listener for which you have posted status output is not listening on this address. And in your first message you wrote:
        Single client access IP : 10.168.20.29 name: rac-scan
        What is the output of:
        srvctl config scan_listener
        srvctl config scan

          Hi,

          Are you trying to connect using bastion host with tunneling?

          Kind Regards,

            Dear All,

            I am repeating my question again:

            In 2 node RAC 11gR2, I am unable to connect RAC database using scan IP address.

            I can ping scan IP address from both rac nodes
            I can tnsping bssdb from both rac nodes
            from any of the rac machine i can connect sqlplus like this : imran/imran@bssdb

            But from client when i try to connect by adding a correct a tns entry it gives the following error:
            ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist

            I can tnsping from the same client machine too, and can also ping the scan IP from the same client machine

            If using a tool like SQL Developer, I try to connect using service name or SID

            When I change from service to listener in tns file of the client machine like this it says:
            ORA-12505: TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor

            This is my tns entry at client:

            bssdb =
            (DESCRIPTION =
            (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 192.168.20.29)(PORT = 1521))
            (CONNECT_DATA = (SID = bssdb))
            )

            this is my tnsnames.ora file at rac nodes:

            BSSDB =
            (DESCRIPTION =
            (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 192.168.20.29)(PORT = 1521))
            (CONNECT_DATA =
            (SERVER = DEDICATED)
            (SERVICE_NAME = bssdb)
            )
            )

            Kindly help on this.

            Thanks, Imran

              The output is:

              [oracle@racnode1 ~]$ srvctl config scan_listener
              SCAN Listener LISTENER_SCAN1 exists. Port: TCP:1521
              [oracle@racnode1 ~]$ srvctl config scan

              SCAN name: racnode-cluster-scan, Network: 1/192.168.20.0/255.255.255.0/eth0
              SCAN VIP name: scan1, IP: /racnode-cluster-scan/192.168.20.29
