      Hi,

I have installed WCI 10.3.0 and C Collaboration on windows. Anytime I try to access Collaboation Administration or any of the Collaboration Portlets it throws an error. Here is the error I see in wrapper.log:
      Invalid Portal Authentication Data.

I also ran the diagnostics (http://localhost:11930/collab/admin/diagnostic) and everything on that page looks fine came fine Collaboration Startup and DB = OK. All the services are running ok. Collaboration deployed on the Embedded Servlet Engine. On Configuration Manager Screen under web authentication used user/password collabappuser/collabappuser

So don't know where else the problem is.

      Any help is appreciated.

      Thanks

          Hi,

          Your Problem is here.

          com.plumtree.collaboration.webui.framework.util.CollaborationWebException: portalAccess_InvalidPortalAuthentication

Start troubleshooting with making sure that your configuration's are correct in the :

Collaboration Administration Utility : Portal Access
          - Web service ID:
          - Gateway page URL:
          - Collaboration service URL:

Verify Remote Server Properties : Base Authentication Type: Base Authentication Type is correct.
          RETYPE, then click finish
          Username:
          Password:

Additionally, Check collaboration.log for any similiar or related errors.

          Cheers!
          Hope that helps!!!

            Interesting enough.

            After I reproduced the error

            • Response status: 500
            • Response body:

            Warning
            Invalid Portal Authentication Data.

            by

changing the "Administrator's Basic Authentication Information : Username" From
            collabappuser to collabappuser1

I noticed that I could not get my "Community Projects" portlet back up and running by simply changing the username back to "collabappuser".

The only way I got it back working was by RETYPING the username and password and clicking finish.

            Cheers!!

For me, it was a mismatch between the collabappuser password set in the Collaboration server's configuration.xml (set w/Configuration Manager web tool), and the one in the Collaboration Remote Server configuration in the portal. Once I set them to the same value, it worked.

Note: You can't try to match hash values from another server's settings because each time you set the password with the same value, a different has is generated. For example, I tried to compare collabappuser passwords but each time I set it, I got a different has:

              SwbQefKKhXD/Cb9qHZD5c1yJ+7I5PQhNFr2fbJe6vztE= (collabappuser)
              SbFd67m60xysVbfTAWiHbiiLkL1TpUCULlgshvYVZi5U= (collabappuser)
              SRC0fPDuOTDLQdLwF/AcC5lhxk+SZ7sT4gvwfMB8GZ+0= (collabappuser)
