Files stored under ASM disk Groups

    Vikash Jain (DBA )
      Hi,

Can anyone differentiate the file types which automatically stored under oracle 10g , oracle11gR1 and oracle11gR2 ASM disk groups?
(for example in oracle *11gR2* under the ASM disks group , stores files like control file, data files , archived log files etc...)

      Thanks & Regards,

You can keep all you database related files on ASM Disk groups (Controlfiles, redologfiles, datafiles and archive log files).

This is applicable in across all versions starting from 10g.

Automatically no files will be stored on ASM in any version of oracle we need to specify it to store it on ASM DG.
