    BUG: Advisor not working on apex.oracle.com

    jariola
      Hi,

      I try run Advisor (Home > Application Builder > Application 39006 > Utilities > Advisor)
      for my application on apex.oracle.com and I get always
      Error     ORA-01422: exact fetch returns more than requested number of rows
      Is this some known bug?

      Regards,
      Jari

            Hi,

            Workspace name is DBSWH.

            Do you need login details to workspace?

            Regards,
            Jari

              Hi Patrick,

              Have you had time check this?
              I just wonder can I use my workspace and make changes to application and still reproduce issue?

              Regards,
              Jari

                Hi Jari,

                sorry for the late response, I was on vacation.

                I'm able to reproduce your problem on apex.oracle.com, but I'm not able to reproduce it if I export your application and test it on our internal development system.
                Do you see the same behavior that you only get the error on apex.oracle.com but not on your own development system?

                Regards
                Patrick

                  Hi,

                  I did import application to 10G XE database running Apex 4.1.0.00.32.
                  Advisor works OK.

                  Regards,
                  Jari

                    Hi Patrick,

                    Is this apex.oracle.com instance problem or can I expect that this error might raise up also in other instances?

                    I have now import app to 11G R2 EE database running Apex 4.1.
                    Advisor works ok there also

                    Regards,
                    Jari

                      Hi Patrick,

                      Is this case "solved" and you do not like check this more? I just wonder can I e.g. delete my app?

                      Regards,
                      Jari

                        Hi Jari,

                        it's not really solved, because I'm not able to reproduce it on a system where I can debug where and why the error occurs. The error is only raised on apex.oracle.com, but on this system I can't really do any debugging of the Builder.

                        If you wish you can delete the app at anytime, I have a copy in my workspace.

                        Regards
                        Patrick

                            Hi,

                            I did notice when entering below HTML to page help, advisor give error "ORA-01422: exact fetch returns more than requested number of rows". I can produce this only in apex.oracle.com
                            <p class="fielddatabold">See blog post <a target="_blank" href="http://dbswh.webhop.net/htmldb/f?p=BLOG:READ:0::::ARTICLE:3091600346416059">APEX classic report "instant search"</a>.</p>
                            What I did test problem comes from checks "Declarative References of Application Items, Page Items, Columns or Interactive Report Filters" and "Referenced Page Number Exists"

                            Also I think it is not logical that check "References with Substitution Syntax" report error "OPT does not exist." if you have in page JavaScript something like
                            $("#rh"+lId).css({"overflow-x":"hidden","width": opt.width-opt.scrollWidth,"left":"0","bottom":"0"}).parent().css({"bottom":"0"});
                            Regards,
                            Jari

                                Hi Jari,
                                $("#rh"+lId).css({"overflow-x":"hidden","width": opt.width-opt.scrollWidth,"left":"0","bottom":"0"}).parent().css({"bottom":"0"});
                                I was not able to reproduce this on our dev system or on apex.oracle.com. Do you have a test app on apex.oracle.com where I can reproduce the issue?
                                I did notice when entering below HTML to page help, advisor give error "ORA-01422: exact fetch returns more than requested number of rows". I can produce this only in apex.oracle.com
                                I'm able to reproduce the error on apex.oracle.com but not on our dev system. Maybe it has already been fixed or it's a apex.oracle.com specific bug. Do you mind to test it on your local 4.2.0 system if you are able to reproduce it, because I only have a 4.2.1 system at hand and want to avoid setting up a new system if possible.

                                Regards

                                  Hi Patrick,

                                  Problem relating "ORA-01422: exact fetch returns more than requested number of rows" I have not able reproduce in any other instances.

                                  Reproduce problem "OPT does not exist." I have two applications in apex.oracle.com where produce this.
                                  Workspace is DBSWH and app ids are 17210 and 39006.
                                  You have user in my workspace. Please let me know if you need other loging details.

                                  To reproduce "OPT does not exist."
                                  Go to Application 39006 -> Utilities -> Advisor
                                  Select only "References with Substitution Syntax" to be checked and run check.
                                  This "problem" I can reproduce in other instances.

                                  I have also another new case for advisor check "References with Substitution Syntax"
                                  In same apex.oracle.com workspace go to Application 48251 -> Utilities -> Advisor
                                  Select only "References with Substitution Syntax" to be checked and run check.
                                  And you get error "THIS does not exist."

                                  It comes from that app page 1 dynamic action called Execute instant search.
                                  There I have in condition JavaScript expression code
                                  (this.browserEvent.which===8||this.browserEvent.which===46||this.browserEvent.which>=48)&&this.browserEvent.which<=90&&$v("P1_INSTANT_SEARCH_YN")==='Y'
                                  Somehow I think advisor error is not relevant
                                  Also this "problem" I can reproduce in other instances.

                                  Regards,
                                  Jari
