Requesting Feedback - How to Capture Qualified Overtime Premium from Comp Time Payouts
I am hoping to get some feedback from others that may have handled tracking 1/3 of the comp time payout through an earnings code. Our team adds the earnings code to the payline for employees that receive a payout. The payout is issued in June. We already have an established code for the Comp Payouts and the multiplication factor is 1.00
Step 1 - I created a new special accumulator to hold the 1/3 amount of the payout. The special accumulator code is what will be mapped to Box 12-TT on the 2026 W-2 to report qualified overtime.
Step 2 - I created a tracking ERNCD with components: payment type hours, does not add to gross but Maintains Earnings Balances, is not subject to taxes, has a multiplication factor of 0.3333. In the Based on Other Earnings section, I selected Single Earnings and added the existing ERNCD for comp time payouts, I selected "hours" the Based on Amount or Hours section.
