Customer Dashboards with a Multi-Subsidiary Customer

The Netsuite docs say this is "Unsupported Functionality" - in practice what does this mean? Does the dashboard not appear? Does it not work properly?

My customer service teams rely on the dashboard, so if it doesn't work I'll have to come up with another solution for shared customers.

Has anyone any direct experience of this?
