Employee Center & Saved Searches & Portlets

We have just purchased a 'block' of Employee Center Licenses and I have been asked to create a DB on the employee center. I have reviewed the Employee Center Manual, and have reviewed multiple SuiteAnswers. I understand that the Employee Center is an extremely limited license and that the users can only see 'their' created transactions/records.

Management has requested a portlet showing some of our equipment. Since I don't have any 'transactions' in the system I'm not seeing any results under the Employee Center.

We would like to have this SS available on the Employee Center DB as a Custom Search Portlet.
