Implications of Changing the Return Email Address

On the company record and the subsidiary record, there is a field called 'Return Email Address'. In my company this field has been set to the email address of the previous administrator. We wish to change this email to another email address.

Are there any side effects of changing this address?

I noted that when I did change this in a test account, the email address appeared in the domain keys section of the email preferences tab. Is this email address used in the domain key generated here?

Also, in a general sense, what emails will be sent to this email address?
