Posting Time in Open Previous Period

We are trying to post time after its been approved but the journal entry is dated the day the time is posted, not the date from the time record. We need the data to post in the correct month for costing purposes. Has anyone written a script or figured out how to manually create the posting records so they can be posted in the correct month?
