Question on how Search affects scripted records

Hello everyone. I have a question. While reading SAFE guide I came across statement that said this: "IF Search Criteria matched hundreds of records having complicated script attached to them, the search will overuse system resource".  Does running scripted search trigger user event and/or client script attached to them?
