Web Service Performance Problems

The implementation discussed below is done in C#.NET 2.0.

I'm not sure if there are going to be any workarounds for my problem so this might just be a statement to see who else is seeing this problem.

I've been pulling all of my item records through webservices so that I can create product feeds with them. I've been doing this with the ItemSearchBasic object and calling a _service.asyncSearch() and then using the internal IDs to call a _service_asycnGetList(). This was working for a long time until I started getting performance issues with Netsuite. I noticed this because my thread for pulling the completed GetList was taking longer then the 20 minute session time. I then verified that by trying to download the asnyGetList Response from my Web Services Process Status screen in NS and the file was
