Using SuiteTalk to Delete Matrix Items

Anyone have any success deleting matrix items using SuiteTalk?

I am using the php toolkit, and have been able to delete normal InventoryItems as well as Child Matrix Items. However, I am not able to delete the Parent items.

I followed the documentation, and I deleted all the child items first. I verified this in the Netsuite UI. When I try to delete the Parent Matrix Item I get a response saying the transaction succeeded, but it is still there. If I repeat the procedure I still see the item and can successfully delete the item again (with no error or warning message).
