Deleting Revenue Commitments in closed periods
During our adoption of ASU 2009-13, we erroneously recognized revenue on a handful of sales orders without using the advanced rev rec module.
We use revenue commitments and once we committed the item, it cannot be deleted. As the period is now closed, we cannot delete the revenue commitment.
Once an amount is committed, you cannot "recommit" the amount. Based on discussions with NetSuite support, they recommend reopening the period. I would prefer not to do this as it could introduce errors. Has anyone ran into this problem and formulated a workaround?
