Invoice Importing - Small Business

We're a small business and do approximately 25 invoices a month, the data for which is in an excel spreadsheet.  I was looking into the smbXML import function to save a little time each month but setiing this up is a bit too technical for me.  Is CSV easier and would it work for this type of import?
