Global Zip Code Search

I have the need to search all customer, vendor, lead, prospect, and contact (I think thats all of them,....) by zip code.  Many of our customers are also vendors we buy from so there is a possibility they can be listed in both.

Right now, the global search does not look in the zip code.  The only way to search by zip code is a custom search, but then you have to do each search independent of the others (vendor only, customer only... etc.)

Is there a way to do what I am aiming to do?
