How to get AVERAGE type to ignore blanks?

edited Jan 3, 2020 1:07AM in Search / Reporting 12 comments

Hi,
In Excel, if I average 5 fields, and two are empty then I get the average of the 3 with data.

Is there any way you can do this in NetSuite?

Business reason:
I have a new custom coaching form where users select a dropdown with the 6 choices: very good/good/standard/development/bad/na when they assess an employee for particular tasks.  The score na is used if that question does not apply to the particular coaching instance.
These translate into scores of 5/4/3/2/1/do-not-include.
Scores can then be averaged to find out where training needs to be focused across individuals or departments.

Howdy, Stranger!
