filtering field options by an item list

I have a Custom Record that is a child of an Item Fulfillment.
In said Custom Record I have an Item Field.  I want to source that Item Field from the list of items in the Item Fulfillment.  How do I accomplish this


To expand on the specifics I have tried:

I have created a child record of ItemFulfillment (I will call it FulfillChildRec).
I have a FulfillParent field set to be the parent item fulfillment record

Next I created a child of that record (I will call it GrandchildRecord).
On this I have the Parent field  or List/Record to be the parent
