Noninventory item for purchase Manufacturer

I see that Manufacturer information is only available for Non-Inventory items for Sale and Resale. Non-Inventory items for Purchase do not display "Manufacturer, MPN and Manufacturer Country" . 1. Is there way to show those fields?
2. What is the logic behind not showing it? Items for purchase do not get manufactured?
