Certificates for Two-way SSL communications.

If I am going to use the smbXML only to Query, Get and Update the NetSuite Server, do I need to provide NetSuite with my company certificate?

My understanding is that only if NetSuite is initiating a transaction to the client, Unsolicited, than the client needs to provide a certificate to NetSuite.
