How to track the no of phone calls made before a sales rep gets through to a customer

Hi,

I am trying to work out how to track the number of phone calls made before a sales rep gets through to a customer.

Currently, i am considering adding a field to the phone call form that has the options 'did not answer' and 'answered' and another field, which becomes mandatory when the phone call is set to answered, that asks the sales rep to specify the number of phone calls made before the phone call was answered (by the relevant person). The issue with this is that it relies on the sales rep entering the correct value.

Any help with this would be great.
