Workflow to Close a Parent Support Case when All Child Cases are Complete

edited Apr 7, 2020 8:49PM in Ask A Guru 2 comments

We created a "Parent/Child" relationship between cases by creating a custom field called "Parent Case" (Type = List/Record; List/Record = Case) where the parent case # can be selected to create the relationship.  I DID check "Record is Parent" for this field.

What we're trying to accomplish is when all Child Cases are closed (basically when 3 criteria are met on the child cases but for simplicity purposes let's just say when they're closed) we want the parent case to close.  Our initial thoughts are doing this via saved search/workflow combination where the saved search will populate Parent Cases that should be closed and the workflow will use that saved search to close them.
