Activity Tasks: Modifying Related Records -> Transaction Link

We need the ability to modify the Related Records Sublist that appears on most Activity tabs.

For example, the image below is from a Customer Record => Communication => Activities => New Task

If a user needs to link an Activity to a Transaction after the fact, determining the correct Transaction is difficult given the limited information that appears in the drop down (including the fact it is sorted alphabetically and not by transaction type).

Q: Can we modify (or replace) this field? Is this coming from a Search / Sublist we can modify?
