NSC | Resolve Error: "You need a higher permission for custom record type SCM Preferences to..."

Scenario

An Administrator has already added the Engineering Change Order related permissions to a custom role and also added the custom role to the script deployments associated with Engineering Change Order.

However, using the custom role, an error message is received:

"Permission Violation: You need a higher permission for custom record type SCM Preferences to access this page. Please contact your account administrator."

Solution

To resolve the error, the mentioned permission needs to be added to the custom role:

1. Using the Administrator role, navigate to Setup > Users/Roles > Manage Roles

2. Edit the role assigned to the user

3. Under Permissions, click
