Suitelet List -- calling the l_sort function by NetSuite

Hi,

I have a Suitelet that displays a list (using serverWidget.ui.createList), and I would like to have the sorting functionality (l_sort by NS ) to be called automatically once the page loads.

Is there any way to do this?

I've tried attaching a client script to the suitelet that calls the sort function but it does not recognize the function,

Client Script

 const invokeSort = () => {
  alert('hi');

  invokeSort
       }

Suitelet:

context.response.writePage(getList());

invokeSort(); //custom client script

Error: ReferenceError: invokeSort is not defined
