New to NetSuite | SuiteQL Advanced Queries: ROW_NUMBER()
in SuiteCloud
In New to NetSuite | SuiteQL Overview and New to NetSuite | Understanding SuiteQL Syntax articles, we explored the fundamental concepts, capabilities, and structure of SuiteQL.
SuiteQL Syntax for Advanced Queries goes beyond simple selections and joins to deliver robust, flexible, and analytical queries within database. SuiteQL’s capabilities are similar to standard SQL (with some NetSuite-specific constraints). One of these advanced features is ROW_NUMBER().
The ROW_NUMBER() is a supported analytic/window function that assigns a sequential number to each row in a query result.
- ROW_NUMBER() creates the number: 1, 2, 3, and so on.
- OVER (...) tells that this is an analytic function operating over a set of rows.
