Question on Drip marketing workflow

I have a workflow to send an email when the lead status is changed to x.
I get the email when I edit & save the lead with status x. The issue is if I try to edit again keeping the status as x, the workflow try to send the same email again and throw an error stating
"You are attempting to send the same campaign email twice to the same recipient"
What am I doing wrong?:h_a_w:

I have set Event Based initiation on update and Trigger type as "After Record Submit".
Initiation  
X    Event Based
   On Update
