Lock Record Workflow and Inline Editing

I created a workflow to lock a customized record after clicking an approval checkbox. My record will lock but it still allows the user to make changes through inline editing on saved searches. I know I can disable inline editing for the customized records but I would like to keep that feature enabled for the approval process.

Any suggestions?
