Plug-In implementation using SS2.0?

I needed to implement the Email Capture core plug-in but it seems like I'm required to use SS 1.0 API. Is there any way to use SS 2.0 API and load modules into a plug-in implementation?

I'm trying to execute a Map/Reduce script from the plug-in by the way...not sure if I can schedule that using SS 1.0 API, so far I've been getting an 'UNEXPECTED ERROR' every time I try.
