Any Wholesale Distributors using Advanced inventory?

We distribute DVD/CD/Video games and are implementing Netsuite.  We have over 20,000 SKUs and over 800 Bins.  I am wondering what people do to get around Netsuite rigid bin assignment to Item protocol?  Any best practices here?
