Return Authorization for Serialized Components of Assembly Items
Hello All,
Right now we use serialized assembly items to build many of the items we sell. It works very well for several aspects of our business and not so well for others, specifically return authorizations.
Right now, we allow our customer to return just a serialized component of the sold assembly item and we replace it with merchandise off the shelf. The customer is responsible for removal and installation of the defective component. Issue is, when you do an assembly build the raw materials of the assembly disappear and are not sold to the customer. So, creating an RMA for the component is very messy for us and we have almost zero tracking in our system.
