Best Practice For Correcting Product Costs?

During our implementation we had numerous incorrect product costs uploaded. That was 6 months ago. We're using average product costing with landed costs. What is best practice for rectifying those product costs?

Right now we're planning on uploading inventory adjustment worksheets that post back then. But we have to make dummy product quantities and then make a current adjustment with todays quantities.
