Problem with Multiple Users Editing the Same Record

Just as we were trying to increase our internal usage of NetSuite, we have run into a major issue.

If more than one person is editing a transaction (invoice, sales order, etc) at the SAME time, one of them will lose all of their work, and it can very well be the user who started editing the record first.

This has been reported to NetSuite, who chose to treat it as an enhancement. IMO, it is not a bug, but it is a design flaw. Here is the ER:

Enhancement 124740 - When user begins editing any transaction, that record should be locked to prevent any other users from even attempting to perform an edit.
