System allowed invalid email address

Just had a customer place an order online, first-timer, so created a new customer record, with login access.  The system allowed him to enter an invalid email - his street address, in fact!!!

I just tried creating a new test login, and it wouldn't allow such an obvious error.

Anyone else experiencing this latest glitch?
