I just did a case search for "message text" contains "3M". It was a search of all cases. This is what I got for load times...

Two minutes for a case search! Why so slow?
I can search this user's group for cases containing the text "3M" with results in about one second and this UG has way more data that our customer support cases.
I exported a list of all cases and the file was only 1.1mb, but it didn't show the "message text" for each of the cases. Add the data contained in the "message text" fields and it is still probably under one GB of data (excluding any multimedia attachments). I'm a mac user and I have about 100gb of my 300gb hard drive filled with searchable files. I just search the contents of all of those files for the word "3M" and it give me the completed results in about one second. Surely NetSuite's system is more robust than my mac
